The Higher Education Commission (HEC) announces the registration schedule for Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has released the registration schedule for the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT). The HAT is conducted by the Education Testing Council (ETC) and serves as a uniform, accessible, and transparent selection process for the award of all HEC scholarships and admission to MS/MPhil programs.

Who can apply for Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT)?

Applicants who have already applied for MS/MPhil admission or HEC scholarships via the e-portal for the further final selection process are eligible to apply for the HAT. Additionally, those who intend to apply for future scholarship schemes, including those offered by HEC-sponsored Pakistani universities, and individuals interested in securing admission in MS/MPhil programs in public and private universities of Pakistan can also apply.

How to apply for HEC Aptitude Test (HAT)

To register for the HEC Aptitude Test, please visit the following link: http://etc.hec.gov.pk. In case of any queries during the online registration process, please visit onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or seek guidance from HEC regional offices.

The application submission process consists of two steps: profile completion using the “My Profile” section and application submission using the “Higher Education Aptitude Test” links on the menu panel. Please note that only submitted applications will be considered for the test, and applications in save or incomplete mode will not be entertained.

The test fee for HAT is PKR 2000 per candidate. Candidates can deposit the fee amount through participating banks, ATMs, internet banking, mobile apps (such as EasyPaisa, JazzCash, or Upaisa), or the 1Link 1Bill invoice service. After selecting the 1Link 1Bill service, open or sign in to your mobile app, click on bill payment or payment services, select 1Bill invoice payment services, and enter the consumer number generated by the ETC portal. Once the payment is made, click on “Verify Online Payment” on the ETC dashboard.

Please note that the test fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
